Mrs. Abby Gold's Bio

Abby Gold is the principal of the Red Lion Remote School. She is in her 30th year in the Red Lion Area School District. Mrs. Gold earned her undergraduate degree at York College of Pennsylvania and both her Reading Specialist certificate and Administrative degree from Mc Daniel College in Maryland. She began her career as a 6th grade teacher and then transferred to 5th grade. After 8 years of being a classroom teacher, Mrs. Gold served as a Reading Specialist for the district. As a Reading Specialist she had the opportunity to work in many of the elementary schools throughout the district. For two years she occupied the District Content Literacy Specialist role, which allowed her to work with K-12th grade teachers. That job provided her with the experience she needed to make the move to being a principal. Abby thoroughly enjoys being part of the community where she grew up. Red Lion is a great place to work and she is looking forward to another fabulous year.

On a personal note, she is married to her husband, Shawn, and has a daughter, Carsyn, who is a senior at High Point University.  Mrs. Gold enjoys running, reading, shopping and watching her daughter participate in soccer. Mrs. Gold has 2 dogs, 1 golden retriever named Napa and a new dog, which she rescued from St. Lucia after a vacation there.  His name is Piton.
